Abu Dhabi long term traffic forecast and design day schedules update

In 2024, Avia Solutions supported Abu Dhabi Airports with an update to our 2023 comprehensive traffic outlook for Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH).

• 20-year passenger and aircraft movement forecasts.
• Detailed Design Day Flight Schedules for short-, medium- and long-term planning horizons.
• Monthly forecasts for 2024 and 2025 including an assessment of Connecting vs Point-to-point annual volumes.

Working with key stakeholders Etihad Airways, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, the Department of Culture & Tourism and others, we assessed O&D and transfer passenger dynamics, fleet evolution, and bilateral air service agreements.

We developed multiple growth scenarios to inform strategic decisions linked to planned terminal investments and operational phasing.

Our insights will support capacity planning through the next major transformation at AUH, aligning infrastructure delivery with market-driven demand.
