Confidential Airline – Investigation of potential for new European bases

AviaSolutions investigated the market potential for new bases in eight European countries on behalf of one of the largest airlines in Europe. This included a detailed review of:

• Detailed catchment review.
• The existing market size and characteristics (business/leisure split, yields).
• Strength of competition from incumbent airlines and rail.
• Assessment of relative potential of different base options.

We subsequently supported the airline in running an ‘airport competition’ for potential new bases. The airline has since developed bases in a number of the options we evaluated.
